1. BASIC FUNCTION
The position is responsible for assisting the Manager - Marketing in developing, planning, implementing and monitoring the marketing strategy of the business as agreed with the Head of Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer.
This position is also responsible for increasing awareness of the AutoXpress Retail and Corporate brand activity and promotions, in conjunction with assisting the teams in any marketing related requirements within Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda. In this capacity the incumbent liaises with regional retail and country heads to understand their local needs and ensure execution.
2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Plan, develop, implement, analyze and evaluate the marketing strategy i.e. campaigns, events and PR of AutoXpress. Developing, delivering and reporting on marketing and communications strategies for the organization.
Recommend opportunities to be incorporated in the marketing strategy and plan based on the Company’s objectives and current trends
Plan, develop, implement, analyze and evaluate the retail marketing strategy i.e. campaigns, events, branch marketing activities
Develop campaign budgets in line with the Company’s and Supplier brand requirements
Work closely with supplier brands on retail campaigns
Undertake continuous analysis of campaigns and develop reports at the end of every campaign
Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends
Retail Marketing Branch Support
Work closely with the senior retail management team to define marketing materials and programs
Working closely with the Company’s retail teams; enabling them to meet their objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, marketing materials, presentations and merchandise
Identify merchandise item opportunities and undertake inventory management of merchandise items
Design and implement artwork that contributes to the communication and business strategies of AutoXpress.
Work in conjunction with the Creative Designer for creation of artwork, photo, video and layout designs used for advertising, broadcast and web communication
Work with the Creative Designer to ensure department goals are met
Ensure delivery of high quality marketing materials and services from suppliers consistent with the AutoXpress brand
Maintain Brand Equity
Manage and maintain branch branding in accordance with the corporate CI manual, and in collaboration with suppliers and the marketing team.
Maintain and adhere to the brand identity manual
Apply supplier brands as specified by the relevant brand manuals where applicable
Maintain branch signage and liaise with suppliers for brand application

4. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business or related field with a marketing option from a recognized university
At least 4 years’ experience as a marketing officer in our organization or at least 2 years’ experience at the same level in a marketing field
Have graphic design skills including basic knowledge of software packages like corel draw, adobe illustrator or equivalent
Computer literacy and especially in MS Office applications.
