Job Summary:

Reporting to the Research Administrator, the nurse will be responsible for screening, collection of specimen(s) from participants, enrolment, follow up of study participants, documentation and data entry of findings.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/TASKS:

The Nurse will be expected to: -

Provide basic triage and offer treatment to study participants.

Collect specimen and perform malaria rapid diagnostic tests on study participants.

Maintain strict confidentiality and participants’ privacy.

Maintains adequate amounts of required medical supplies.

Ensure accurate data collection and recording of confidential clinical data.

Develop and reviews study SOPs

Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:

Diploma in Community health nursing from a recognized institution.

Registered and with a valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Be computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office suite.

Be fluent in English and Kiswahili both written and spoken.

Certificate in “Good Clinical Practice” and/or “Human Subjects Protection”

Be willing to reside in/within the study sites.

Knowledge, Skills and abilities:

General knowledge on maternal health and child development

Experience working in a research study

Experience using laptops and tablets (handheld computers)
