Responsibilities
Coordinate all social work activities at the institution
Coordinating treatment planning and maintaining ongoing contact with outpatient providers for the continual care of
Actively participating in ongoing training as needed in order to meet all certification standards and credentialing
Provides advocacy and support for people with learning disabilities, the homeless, substance addicts, and foster-system
Providing mental health counseling to individuals, groups or families;
Develop departmental work
Conducting initial assessments of clients’ situation to determine needs and
Researching on appropriate public assistance resources for
Communicating with clients’ care
Providing crisis intervention as
Referring individuals to appropriate treatment centers, as
Ensuring that all case files, and other records, strictly comply with policies, regulations, and
Attends continuing education conferences, prepares and presents reports for conferences and
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Public Health, Counseling, Anthropology, Nursing or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
Be conversant with Public Health Act, Mental Health Act, Cap. 248 and other Health related Acts; and
Meet Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
