Title: Business Development Manager – Battery Manufacturing,
Our client is an award winning energy solution provider based in UK with operations in several countries including Kenya. They seek to hire a motivated and result-oriented Business Development Manager tasked with formulating and executing strategic plans to grow sales revenue across all company product portfolio. The successful candidate will work broadly and collaboratively to achieve both individual and team targets. They will be responsible for relationship management and client retention.
Actively develop sales in the Kenyan Business Unit to deliver required growth and achieve agreed business targets (through new business)
Target and contact key decision makers in large commercial enterprises, hotels/resorts, to create a need and present new project opportunities, propose specific sales contracts, obtain fully executed contracts for new projects, and achieve business development goals
Represent the company at appropriate local and international forums, associations, trade shows/exhibitions, industry talks and other renewable energy platforms, updating management regularly
Collaborate with technical team to properly coordinate project implementation, and operations support interface, and proactively address problems/customer issues, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Devise and execute strategies to develop and grow a network of relationships with potential customers and strategic partners
Develop strategies and tactics to help position the company as a leader within the energy industry.
Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
Development and ongoing ‘servicing’ of customers, both existing customers and new business
Initiate contact with new customers and build relationships with key decision makers in order to create and convert sales opportunities
Create monthly and quarterly forecast of sales
Negotiate pricing with customers to ensure profitable margin
Provide regular feedback to the management on market trends, competitive threats and opportunities to deliver greater value to our customers.
Strategic reporting on all sales activities including sales and prospecting activities, sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities.
Advise management on strategic issues relating to product lines materials, new proposals and problem areas.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field
Over 5years experience within the battery / clean energy industry (MUST HAVE)
Strong practical knowledge of strategic account development, particularly in building new pipeline of accounts
Extensive network of contacts and ability to build and develop these contacts
Able to move successfully through the major and mid-market account sales process and successfully close the business
Comprehensive understanding of the new business sales process and the ability to operate at every level within the sales process from conducting a positive initial prospect meeting to crafting and delivering a compelling and successful proposal
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with new customers and maintain strong relationships with existing ones
Able to deal professionally with internal and external contacts, able to represent the company with a high level of credibility
Ability to analyze data and situations and provide recommendations to identify optimum solutions
A collaborative style, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Results oriented and act with a sense of urgency
